Kudos to the Ford Motor Company - Talk about employee brand advocacy
December 8, 2015
A few weeks back, the Ford Motor Company launched an incredible idea that has often been made available in traditional retail but rarely in the automotive field. They announced a friends and neighbors promotional discount that easily lays out a plan to get the friends and neighbors of Ford Motor Company employees to buy a new Ford vehicle. It began on Tuesday November 9th and runs through January 4, offers what the automaker calls "an inside deal, now for everyone." It’s simple it’s engagement and advocacy on steroids. http://ford.to/1NPTeaf

Kudos To CITI Bank For Helping Detroit Bring Back Hope And Shine Brighter
September 1, 2015
I lived in Detroit for over 17 years and worked in the automotive advertising industry (1976 – 1993). I started out in Detroit right after graduating with a Master’s of Science in Advertising from the University of Illinois. I was fortunate enough to get a job in the media department at McCann-Erickson working on the Buick and GMC truck account. After seven years with McCann, I was recruited away for a consumer insights/strategy position at Young and Rubicam after they won the Lincoln Mercury account. After that, Lee Iacocca fired Y&R and assigned the Chrysler account to Kenyon & Eckhardt. It was like a game of musical chairs.

Are your employees effective brand ambassadors?
April 14, 2015
I am often asked at speaking engagements, conferences and workshops about brand ambassadors. Sometimes brand ambassadors are also called “brand champions” or ”brand evangelists”. What are they? How do you create brand ambassador programs? Are brand ambassadors internal employees or external customers? Does it happen naturally or is it managed and staged? I thought I’d take the time in this blog post to reflect and give you my definition of brand ambassadors.
